Where to find the serial number on every PS5 model

How to check if a PS5 is banned before buying
A serial number check tells you whether the console has been reported stolen. It can't tell you whether Sony has banned it from PlayStation Network, and a banned PS5 can't play online, use the PlayStation Store or download games. Test for that in person before you pay.
Ask the seller to have the console set up and connected to the internet. Sign in with your own PlayStation account, open the PlayStation Store, and start an online game or a download. If the console says it can't connect to PlayStation Network while your phone works fine on the same Wi-Fi, walk away. Sign out of your account when you're done.

On a Nintendo Switch it is on the bottom edge of the console and under System Settings > System > Serial Information.
