How to judge it yourself

• Every result lists each source that was searched, so you can see exactly what was and wasn't checked. The list is also on data sources.
• A result reads "reported stolen", "possible match", or "no report found in the records searched". A no-match result isn't a guarantee, and the site says so.
• SafeOrStolen does not search NCIC, DMV records, or Apple or Google account status. If a site claims to search those for a few dollars, be skeptical.
• The monthly plan ($10) can be cancelled anytime and has a 30-day refund. Details are on pricing.
